Nolan and Brandon met while learning to barefoot water ski on Pine Lake in West Bloomfield, Michigan. When they weren’t skimming across the water at 40mph, they talked about businesses that leveraged their combined skill sets of customer service and love for operations. Time and again self-storage came up. Fast forward a few years and they are both using self-storage facilities to help with cross-country moves. Seeing first-hand how great the business is they founded Tru Storage in 2022.

Nolan grew up in southeast Michigan in a military family that valued hard work. By the ripe age of 14, Nolan was going door to door in the neighborhood selling landscaping services. His passion for entrepreneurship drew him to a local marina, where the owner had established himself as the premier operator in Michigan. Nolan learned about customer service, attention to detail, boat sales and never settling for good enough. Rising through the ranks, Nolan ultimately became the manager of the marina and was able to deliver outstanding results during his tenure.
In the off-season away from the marina, Nolan ran a dock and hoist company with over 125 clients.
Nolan currently resides in Salt Lake City, Utah where he is training for his latest marathon.

Brandon grew up on family farm in Central Illinois. He always jokes that a stop light was over 30 minutes away and the graduating class in high school was a mere 50 students. His love for sports carried him to college where he competed in football and track and field.
After college, Brandon worked for a bank and an investment company, but did not stick around there too long. He always had a passion for building things and started his first company, Dent Recon, in 2010. Brandon sold his ownership interest in Dent Recon in 2012 and moved onto buying beauty schools in the Midwest. Then in 2014, a partner and Brandon started Tru Family Dental, which grew to over 30 dental practices serving patients in Illinois, Michigan and Ohio.
Brandon resides outside Salt Lake City, Utah with his wife, Jennie, and their 4 young children.
